IT in Industry

Posted on November 2018

Lately, the use of IT in industry has reached a new level due to the development of Industry 4.0. At the TAdviser conference, Eldar Damirov, Head of Industry at Infotech Group, spoke about the experience of implementing solutions based on predictive analytics at industrial enterprises.

“Customers are not ready to pay more for technology as such; they don’t need even more sensors, they need someone who can get the existing IT equipment to work, enabling the customers to recover the finances invested in it and make money,” Eldar Damirov points out. “Thus, at the first stage of the project implementation, we map out the task faced by the enterprise, such as stabilizing the production process and reducing the quantity of defective goods, or extending the inter-service operability period of manufacturing equipment, as well as its output. According to these requirements, we select the technologies on which the solution will be based. We carry out inspections, evaluating the availability of devices for monitoring and the array of data integrated into the equipment. We also study the IT landscape. Incidentally, the enterprise’s existing IT resources are often sufficient to implement the solution.”
